I burned this portrait on birch plywood with Razertip Sk burner and used Dremel Versatip Butane Soldering Torch for the darkest part of the pic.
- The first step of the creation is the sanding of the wood
- As I faintly draw the portrait with free hand, you can transfer your pattern with carbon paper or graphite paper on the surface of the wood and the burning of the wood can begin.
- I always start making a portrait by burning the eyes, followed by shading the skin and finally creating the texture of the hair.
- For more effective contrast, I use Faber Castell Colour Grip white colour pencil and white gel pen for the highlights and eyes as well.
